A FORM WITHOUT FIRE

 “having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬ 

This passage warns against people who put on a religious facade—attending church, using spiritual language, and keeping up traditions—but whose lives remain unchanged because they reject the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in their hearts. 

Paul’s instruction to "have nothing to do with such people" means believers should distance themselves from these hypocritical influencers to protect their own faith and avoid being led astray by false teaching. 

To better apply this verse, we can break down its core traits:

• The "Form": The outward show. This involves looking religious, using Christian terminology, or observing rituals. 
• The "Power": The inner reality. This refers to the Holy Spirit actually changing a person's character, producing love, joy, peace, and self-control. 
• The "Denial": When people claim to know God but live in active defiance of His ways (e.g., being boastful, unforgiving, or lovers of money). 

       We must mastered the appearance of Christianity. We know how to dress for Church. We onow how to speak Christian lingo. We know how to quote Scripture. We know how to sing worship songs. 

       But we have forgotten how to tremble in Gods presence. Many have forgotten how to cry in prayer. Many have forgotten how to burn in holiness. 

       We have learned how to perform Christianity. But NOT carry God . 

       We attend church services, but we avoid encounters. We love sermons, but fear surrender. We want blessings, but resist brokenness. And slowly, quietly, dangerously  fire has been replaced with familiarity.
